"It's Hard to Stop a Trane!" But it's very easy to control it with this device driver for the RTI XP series processors! You will need to get an off the shelf RS485 to RS232 adapter such as the BB Electronics Part Number 485SD9TB which is the one with RS485 A and B (not differential) signals and ground. This driver will handle all 8 available thermostats on the ComfortLink II system and connects to the controller through the RS485 adapter.
